Full Bloom is an hour-long interview format television show focused on the interests of the Baby Boom generation. Topics have included: homeland security, thru-hiking the Appalachian Trail, care-giving for the elderly, an Alaska AIDS bicycle ride, women's sacred symbols, Norse mythology, financial planning, skin care, handwriting analysis, women in philanthropy, planning a funeral, genealogy, and training animals for live theater. Guests have included world famous forensic scientist Dr. Henry Lee, Connecticut's State Comptroller Nancy Wyman, psychic detective Nancy Weber, award-winning comedian Nancy Tucker, and not-so-famous citizens who are making meaningful contributions in their neighborhoods, towns, and beyond.

Why Full Bloom? My generation has been labeled "Baby Boomers." Television and newspapers are full of articles and statistics about how we're aging and what effect that collective maturing will have on society. The implications are not always positive. I started Full Bloom because I wanted a show that would acknowledge the contributions of men and women who, despite their age, will never retire from life. I wanted a show where the heroes didn't have to be movie stars or athletes or millionaires. I wanted to prove that those of us labeled "ordinary" can make a difference in the world. I wanted a show that would celebrate our lives.

Now in its fifth year, Full Bloom has received six national Pegasus awards for amateur video production. Though I'm grateful for the awards, I'm more thankful for having the opportunity to meet so many interesting and inspiring people.

Full Bloom Honored With Six National Pegasus Awards

As producer of Full Bloom, Zita Christian was honored with six 2003 Pegasus Awards for Full Bloom, which first aired in March of 2001. The Pegasus Awards are one of the video industry's competitions for recognition of exemplary work produced by non-broadcast video professionals. This is the first time Full Bloom has received an award.

Four Full Bloom shows received an Award of Honor, including the interviews with comedian and musician Nancy Tucker, Bill Berloni who trains animals for live theater, psychic detective Nancy Orlen Weber (who appeared on Larry King Live and Court TV), John Carmon who discussed planning for a funeral, and Mary Kane and John Carmon who told viewers about Mary's Place, a haven for grieving children.

An interview with forensic scientist Dr. Henry Lee earned Full Bloom the Award of Excellence.
